چکیده
A 42-year-old male was admitted due to syncope. 3D CT angiography demonstrated aortic paraannular abscess and pseudoaneurysm from sinus of Valsalva which has bulging contour to AV groove and right coronary artery. We performed abscess removal and debridement. Aortic root was reconstructed and the orifice of pseudoaneurysm was closed using autopericardium (Figs. 1 and 2). Fig. 1. 3D CT angiography (EKG-gated); aortic pseudoaneurysm has bulging contour to AV groove and the right coronary artery is passing through the anterosuperior aspect of the pseudoaneurysm. Fig. 2. Aortic root abscess with vegetation and orifice of pseudoaneurysm in noncoronary sinus of Valsalva.

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva
Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...
متن کاملGiant unruptured noncoronary sinus of Valsalva aneurysm.
Huge unruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysms is rarely observed. We report a 32-year-old woman presenting with exertional dyspnea in which a giant unruptured noncoronary sinus of Valsalva aneurysm was detected after echocardiography. The aneurysm was surgically repaired and the aortic and mitral valves were replaced.
متن کاملAortic valve destruction and pseudoaneurysm of the sinus of Valsalva associated with infective endocarditis.
We report the successful surgical treatment of a case of aortic valve destruction and pseudoaneurysm of the sinus of Valsalva associated with infective endocarditis (IE) in an 80-year-old woman. Multidetector-row computed tomography revealed an abnormal cavity in the left posterior aortic root. We had made the diagnosis of the aortic valve destruction and saccular pseudoaneurysm of the sinus of...
متن کاملAortic valve regurgitation that resolved after a ruptured coronary sinus aneurysm was patched.
Sinus of Valsalva aneurysms appear to be rare. They occur most frequently in the right sinus of Valsalva (52%) and the noncoronary sinus (33%). More of these aneurysms originate from the right coronary cusp than from the noncoronary cusp. Surgical intervention is usually recommended when symptoms become evident. We report the case of a 34-year-old woman who presented with a congenital, ruptured...
متن کاملSurgical treatment of pseudoaneurysm of the sinus of valsalva after aortic valve replacement for active infective endocarditis.
Pseudoaneurysm is an uncommon and serious complication of infective endocarditis (IE). It is often fatal because of its rapid progress, high rates of rupture and recurrence, and worsening effects on the systemic condition. We report the rare case of a patient who developed a pseudoaneurysm of the sinus of Valsalva two months after emergency aortic valve replacement for active IE. At the previou...
